With a variety of handy tools and great services available, it’s never been easier to travel around by public transport. New technology means you don’t have to wait around at bus stops, many buses and trains now have WiFi on board, cashless ticket options and more!
Stirling Cross is in a great location for those wanting to undertake trips by public transport. In addition to a number of handy bus services, Ely train station is also just a 28-minute bus journey or a 34-minute bike ride. This makes it easy and convenient to leave the car at home, whether travelling locally, heading to destinations such as Peterborough, Cambridge or London, or travelling further afield.
Ely station runs frequent services to Peterborough in one direction and Cambridge in the other. It takes around just 15 minutes to reach Cambridge, from where connecting trains are available to a wide range of national destinations.
Key Local Bus Services
Your nearest bus stops are located on Ely Road, just an 8-minute walk from the new homes at Stirling Cross. The service available from these stops is detailed below, with a link to the timetable and further information:
Service ZIP2 and ZIP3 are both run by Dews Coaches, and operates between Ely – March.
Between the two buses there is a service every 30 minutes Monday to Friday daytime, with ZIP3 operating every hour on a Saturday.
Service 8A, also runs by A2B Bus & Coaches, operates between Market Street and Milton P&R, with one service in each direction, Monday to Saturday.
Further bus routes can be found The Brk, around a 8-minute walk from the site. Service T12, also run by A2B Bus & Coaches, operates between Langton to Sutton, with a service every hour Monday to Saturday.

Paying for your Journey
Catching the bus or train no longer has to mean fumbling around for change before hopping on to pay the driver or conductor in a rush! There are so many different ways to pay for your journey now that you may feel a little spoilt for choice!
It’s also important to check that you aren’t paying too much. Whilst paying for single or return tickets is OK for occasional or one off journeys, those who travel more frequently by bus and/or rail can save some significant cash by choosing monthly or annual passes.
